everyday is like christmas
i have such good friends, and they're all so different.
i got to spend the weekend with two women whom i love very much. i've known K for nearing 10 years, and M for over 3. they've both seen me in absolute shambles, but continue to love me for who i am. they're strong independent women, not palatable to everyone, but fascinating to me and outwardly very different from each other. K is older, more "together", but giddy at the moment. M, tough and smart, and would crawl over coals for her friends. she sees right through my candy shell, into my chocolate gooey middle.
Ni, so understanding, as i absconded with his wife on his birthday.
i am blessed to have such good people in my life.
while i'm on this paean to the people i love, let me mention F and Ne. F, the sweetest programmer I know, the most literate and thoughtful. Ne, another woman whose pluck and drive i've admired. loving and steadfast, this is a woman who overcomes tribulations.
these friendships are so wonderful, such a comfort, and i never believe myself entitled to them. each one is a daily surprise and gift.
warm and accepting. independent, stumbling through their own lives, sharing their discoveries. i think it's their candor, and shapes each has taken over the years. all of them vibrant, each of them rising and responding, lively spirits.
